I took this shot at the Carbide Willson Ruins located in Gatineau Park, near Meech Lake Quebec. The ruins are the site of an old fertilizer plant built in 1907 and are accessible by hiking about 2 km from the nearest road. The old plant was set up an run by an inventor named Thomas Leopold “Carbide” Willson. It was an overcast day in late October and the colour of the forest was almost gone except for a few patches of yellow leaves here and there. I took my shot from this perspective as it lets the viewer feel the force of the river that was used to create electricity for the old plant visible in the background.
